Issues, Evidence and You

Issues, Evidence and You (IEY) is an issue-oriented year-long physical science course for use in grade 8 or 9. Each of the four parts of the course—water usage and safety, materials, energy, and environmental impact—explores multiple science concepts. For example, the part on water introduces concepts such as chemical solutions and concentration.

IEY students conduct experiments, collect and analyze data, create models, and read and analyze information. There is a 500-page, hard-cover student book, a complete Teacher’s Guide, and a kit containing the laboratory equipment and supplies required to conduct course activities. The kit provides supplies for use with up to five classes of 32 students each.
